Looking back at 2008, it has been a bittersweet year for me. Work-wise, made a few costly mistakes (heck, I am only human!), but to see that as the black mark of the year would be unjustifiable.
Other than that it is not much difference than the year before. Felt melancholic for some time, happy the next, sad the next.
The year that was, looking back to the same time last year, I was busy flooding my thoughts with that elusive resolution that I am suppose to make and work on for the year. The resolutions which I eventually came up with:
- Aim to move up higher in the organisation
- Loose weight (actually I need to loose a lot)
- Get my room cleaned
- Get myself a car
- Get myself a computer
- Get myself a life! -__-"
Well, out of all the above, managed only the last one which is to get myself a computer. In this case, bro got the new computer, and well, I got the hand-me-down. Better than none, so just accepted it (and thus ticking that off my list).
For no.2, I did loose some fat mass throught signing up with a gym. I was super enthusiastic about gym time every week for the first 6 months, then I have to admit that I slowly let it slip. Guilty of first degree negligence, I do try and make it for gym fortnightly after that. Oh, and I also signed up for yoga classes held at the office on a weekly basis. This one was worse as my craze only lasted 4 months, and the last 2 months I have been a bad student for not attending classes.
The others are all works in progress. Nothing definite yet. The part where I am to get my own car is in progress. If all goes well I’ll get a new “baby” to take care of this year 2009 *keeping fingers crossed*.
I got the shock of my life when my closest friend was admitted and went for surgery because of a growth. I will never forget the worry she had. Now she’s recuperating after her surgery, and she has indeed went through a very testing ordeal. I prayed hard that everything would go well, and she was joking to me about peeling fruits for her in the hospital. Yes, she told me that in jest, but understand that she is trying to alleviate the concern I had for her since she herself is already an anxious mess.
Hello 2009.. What do you have in store for me?

My 2009 New Year's resolutions:
- Loose weight (I have to work on this further, see SOME results already)
- Work on getting that car!
- Get myself a life (again!) -__-"
- Learn to be a bit more patient, a little bit more tolerant
- Learn not to be bullied
- Work out what I really want to do with my life
- Pursue my Masters (this has been a nagging thought so I'll just put this down)
